Glossary

A Gateway is an application that usually runs on-premise (typically in a plant or factory) that accepts data from its connectors and securely transmits the data to the ThinkIQ platform instance.

A script created in the IDE that is designed to run without any graphical user interface, like a console application. Headless scripts are typically executed using a scheduler. In the ThinkIQ platform we can execute PHP, SQL, and Python scripts in headless mode.

Vendor-made device that records data from the sensors on a piece of equipment. An on-site (factory) data store.

Data that is captured and stored as historical data in the ThinkIQ platform is 'historized'.

Movement of material into a Material Account.

The virtual representation within the Platform of a single physical item. This item could be a place, equipment, material, organization, person, or generic object . Instances are created for specific things in the specific places.

A built in development platform that leverages the Model for writing scripts with the ability to schedule the scirpts or run them on demand in the browser. 

A system generated name which can be used in scripting or expressions. It can be user-modified when the Display Name is modified.

 Filling in of the possible gaps present in time series data.  The Interpolation method determining how to display missing values between two recorded points in time series data. ThinkIQ supports the following interpolation methods: linear, previous, next and none.

Libraries allow Types to be packaged into practical collections. ThinkIQ has built-in libraries for Quantity Kinds, Units and Conversions and the basic Equipment Types found in most Industrial sectors. Industry specific Libraries introduce Types for that Industry.  Applications can deliver their own Libraries and Customer-specific Libraries can be defined and used by individual customers.
