Term Definition

Feed Chain

Software that detects and calculates material movements and uses those material movements to populate the material ledger. The chain begins with a target account and moves backwards up the can-feed relationship until it finds a source account.

Flow Path

The path describing the movement of materials from a Source Account to a Target account as determined by can-feed relationships. The flow path is followed by the Feed Chain.

Gateway

A Gateway is an application that usually runs on-premise (typically in a plant or factory) that accepts data from its connectors and securely transmits the data to the ThinkIQ platform instance.

Headless Script

A script created in the IDE that is designed to run without any graphical user interface, like a console application. Headless scripts are typically executed using a scheduler. In the ThinkIQ platform we can execute PHP, SQL, and Python scripts in headless mode.

Historian

Vendor-made device that records data from the sensors on a piece of equipment. An on-site (factory) data store.

Historized

Data that is captured and stored as historical data in the ThinkIQ platform is 'historized'.

Inflow

Movement of material into a Material Account.

Instance

The virtual representation within the Platform of a single physical item. This item could be a place, equipment, material, organization, person, or generic object . Instances are created for specific things in the specific places.

Integrated Development Environment/Platform (IDE)

A built in development platform that leverages the Model for writing scripts with the ability to schedule the scirpts or run them on demand in the browser. 

Internal Name

A system generated name which can be used in scripting or expressions. It can be user-modified when the Display Name is modified.
