Glossary

Access Levels determine the resources visible in the platform.

The platform has the following pre-configured Access Levels:

  • Public – a system default, this is the default Access Level for anyone who browses to the Home Page of the site.
  • Guest – a system default, not assigned at this time 
  • Registered – All new users are automatically assigned to the RegisteredUser Group and the hence the Registered Access Level. Once a new user is Activated, he will be able to access all platform resources that are assigned the Registered Access Level. Menu items are platform resources and can be assigned specific Access Levels. Registered users can access the Process Layout menu item, for example.
  • Engineering – This Access Level is configured to provide access to technical areas of the site such as Creating Connectors and Model Building.
  • Operator – This Access Level is configured to provide access to Manual Data Entry forms and other tasks executed by Operators.
  • Configuration – This Access Level is useful for configuring assess to highly technical tasks such as Creating Connectors and doing Data Backfills.
  • SiteAdmin – This Access Level provides a convenient way for Administrators to access user data and a link to the backend of the system where User Administration occurs.
  • TIQAdmin– This Access Level is restricted to ThinkIQ resources who may need to provide technical support to the platform users.
  • Special – a system default, User Groups assigned to this Access Level have access to the Administrator back-end of the platform. This is where User Management, menu configuration and other system maintenancetasks are handled.
  • Super Users – a system default. Super Users Access Level is all-encompassing.
